“Happy You Year!”
My friend and fellow coach, David, texted me that fun phrase the other day. I’d never heard it before, and I love it.
I love the shift from the word “new” to “you”.
What if you focused on one area of your life and made it unapologetically about YOU?
“What do YOU want?”
The question is simple, yet not necessarily easy to answer.
I suspect that if you truly listened to yourself about what you really want, it’s not that “new” after all.
It’s probably something you’ve wanted for a while, yet have been too afraid to take consistent action towards it.
I encourage you to take some quiet uninterrupted time to sincerely answer this question.
What do you want?
Here are some examples of areas of your life where you can answer this question of “What do YOU want?”
- In your work/career/business
- In your relationships (eg: family, friends, romantic, etc.)
- In your health (eg: physical, mental, emotional, etc.)
- In your finances
Just like Rachel McAdams mutters in this clip below, “It’s not that simple…”
I counter that statement with, “What if it really is that simple?”
And to this my awesome assistant Christy replied, “Exactly! We know what we want, we’re just afraid to admit it…”
So, if you had the courage to admit to yourself what you really really really wanted in 2023, how would you answer:
What do you want?
