The fear of uncertainty is real! It’s easy to get caught up in the land of “what if” that leads to a downward spiral of rumination.
What if it doesn’t work?
What if this client fires me?
What if I invest in this training and I don’t learn anything?
While I am a huge fan of doing your research, preparing, and learning from the past before making a big decision, the truth is…
You won’t know how something goes until you do it.
and
You won’t know how something feels until you feel it.
The journey from point A to point Z is not a straight line. There are so many lessons to be learned and uncontrollable factors that will come up on your journey.
And you know what, the majority of these amazing insights you’ll have, obstacles to overcome, and awesome people who will help you along the way are yet to be determined. You don’t know what you don’t know! Exerting energy on things that haven’t happened yet and worrying about people you’ve never met is a waste of your precious energy.
So instead of worrying about all the things that may or may not happen from point A to point Z, just try focusing on getting to point B.
Something that has been very useful for my clients is to remember this:
Taking the immediate next action step will reveal the step after that.
Point Z is a good vision to have, but know that all the uncertainty that comes with it is just part of the process.
So instead of being afraid of uncertainty, embrace it as part of the process.
The future cannot be predicted. It can only be created by the choices and actions you make today.
So the best way to overcome your fear of uncertainty is to confidently take the immediate next step that’s right in front of you.
The more you do this, you’ll learn to be more comfortable with uncertainty and even get excited about not knowing what’s to come. After all, your greatest opportunities lie in the land of uncertainty.

Such a real topic! Uncertainty is in the top 5 brain triggers – stealing your joy and peace and suddenly rivaling your world. I love to sync with my power circle when I am experiencing uncertainty and have a reality check. #freindsrock
